Wanting to remove unwanted fat but don’t want to undergo Liposuction surgery?
Cryolipolysis (aka CoolSlimming or Cool Sculpting)
What is Cryolipolysis?
Cryolipolysis is the medical name given to the non-invasive, non-surgical treatment that helps remove stubborn fat in localised areas. The most common brand names for this medical grade treatment is “cool sculpting,” and “coolslimming.” Here at VC Dermal we use the clinical proven “Coolslimming” device. So let’s get straight into it shall we?
How does it actually work?
First of all we have two types of fat:
- Subcutaneous fat (soft jelly like fat that sits under the skin)
- Visceral fat (hard, thicker fat that surrounds our organs)
Cryolipolysis only targets that soft jelly like fat sitting under the skin (subcutaneous fat) – It freezes the fat to between 0℃ to -11℃ which studies have shown is the safest and most effective way to damage the fat cells permanently without damaging the surrounding skin and nerves.
What happens to the fat straight after the treatment?
Well straight after…. nothing really. It can take anywhere from 3 to 12 weeks to start seeing results because once the fat cells have been frozen to death (I know sounds scary) okay what about… once the fat cells have crystallized, the body will naturally eliminate them through the lymphatic system. The most remarkable factor here is that…..once the fat cells are removed, they are gone forever.
Will the fat come back in other places?
When the fat cells are damaged and eliminated through your lymphatic system successfully, they are actually gone forever. Let’s say you put on a few extra kilos over the holidays, you don’t grow more fat cells, what happens is the fat cells left simply expand. When you lose weight the fat cells shrink.
How many kilograms will I lose?
Great question! Well the truth is, you may not lose any kilograms on the scale at all and if you do, think of it as a bonus! What you should be seeing though is loss of centimeters and reduction in size in the area we are treating. Your measurements should reduce in numbers, but not necessarily your weight (unless of course your exercising and eating a reduced calorie diet). Remember the aim of cryolipolysis is to reduce stubborn fat not to lose weight.
Who’s the ideal candidate?
Someone who’s at a healthy body weight, lives a reasonably healthy lifestyle, has stubborn pockets of fat that just won’t shift!
How many treatments will I need?
We recommend having just 3 treatments every 4 weeks to begin within any 12 month period. Although you can see results pretty quickly it can actually take up to 6 months after your 3rd treatment to see the full extent of your results.
A final note from me:
Having struggled with weight loss issues for most of my life, I truly understand the effects that stubborn fat loss can have on self esteem and confidence.
I have introduced this treatment into my clinics because I have witnessed the improvements in my body first hand and I just had to share this treatment as a way to help you achieve your weight loss goals.
