Ageing is part of life, yet sometimes hard to accept. As facial collagen production slows down, wrinkles and saggy skin appear. Fortunately you don’t need invasive plastic surgery to look younger.
Cosmetic injections are a much easier way to make ageing skin look youthful again. Injectables can also be used to alleviate scarring or even sweating. In contrast to cosmetic surgery, cosmetic injections are non-invasive, require no downtime, and are temporary. Dermal fillers are commonly effective for a year, whereas anti-wrinkle injectables with botulinum usually last for three to four months. At Victorian Cosmetic Dermal Clinics (VC Dermal Clinics) we offer quality dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injectables, and many complementary treatments to ensure you retain your youthful appearance.
Our aim is to be able to offer the client everything they need to bring out their best. We don’t simply look at fillers, anti-wrinkle injections, microdermabrasion, laser treatment, or creams in isolation. Rather we formulate the perfect combination or package to bring out the best possible outcome for their skin in the long term – not just a quick fix.
Dermal Fillers or Anti-Wrinkle Injections
As noted both injectables are temporary and non-invasive. And both have a skin smoothing effect, yet work differently producing different effects. At Victorian Cosmetic Dermal Clinics you will experience a consultation to clarify your issues, your skin type, and your goals. Our professional team will then ensure you receive the ideal treatment for your skin. Treatments may produce immediate effects, or be more long-term issue management approaches, depending on your goals. Other complementary treatments may also be combined with dermal fillers to maximise results. Often used in conjunction with cosmetic injections, skin needling promotes collagen production, which has a long-term effect on regaining your facial volume and evening out wrinkles.
Dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid fill out the skin and smooth away wrinkles, drastically reversing visible ageing. Hyaluronic acid, which naturally occurs in the body, absorbs water thereby increasing volume in the skin. Hence it has a skin tightening effect that fills saggy skin, lines and scarring. Dermal fillers are often used to:
- soften static lines (laugh lines or lip lines);
- add volume to the face and cheeks;
- balance out the face (i.e. scarring or undefined jaw line); and
- enhance the lips.
Dermal injectables have an immediate effect, which lasts for about 12 months.
Anti-wrinkle injections using botulinum are injected to relax the muscle and inhibit the facial movements that cause lines. Not only does this prevent lines becoming visible while the injectable is active, but it also prevents future wrinkles from developing. Anti-wrinkle injections are commonly used to smooth away:
- forehead wrinkles;
- frown lines; and
- crows feet (wrinkles around the eyes).
They can also be used as a facelift alternative.
The results last for about three to four months. In addition, as its anti-movement effect slows the deepening of wrinkles and static lines, it also reduces further ageing of the skin through this period.
Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to treat excessive sweating and chronic migraines.
So which option is best for you?
Dermal fillers have a plumping effect and last for almost a year. They are often used in the lower face as lip fillers, as wrinkle fillers, or for plumping saggy skin.
Anti-wrinkle injectables have a muscle relaxing effect, which lasts for up to a third of a year. They are often used to make a facelift, or as a wrinkle reducer or eliminator, mainly in the upper facial area but also on the neck. As they lack the plumping effect, anti-wrinkle injections are not used as lip injections.
The treatment methods vary between conditions and patients, but we will be sure to recommend the perfect treatment for you. Visit us at any Victorian Cosmetic Dermal Clinic and book your consultation to find out which anti-ageing treatment is right for you.
